From IBL News to the IBL Platform. IBL originally began as IBL News in the early days of the Internet in 1997, a year before Google had launched. Our goal then was to inform and educate audiences on new technologies. IBL has always done a recognized job on reporting and continues to do so today.

In the realm of education, IBL started in early 2020 delivering learning initiatives by integrating Moodle, Sakai and Blackboard, among other existing platforms. We felt that those technologies fell short, so we began developing our own software. In 2013, MIT, Harvard University, and Stanford released the first high-quality open-source learning platform, Open edX. We specialized in it, becoming the leading provider in the U.S. Our organization, based in New York, was the first one using this software for a big university: George Washington University.

Later on, as we built the IBL Platform on top of the Open edX code, we started to serve other large institutions such as SUNY, NYU, The University of Illinois, and MIT. IBL has also been supporting leading brands in the industry who needed to improve their training programs, such as Tesla, Cisco, IBM, and NVIDIA, just to name a few. Overall, the IBL Platform serves over 800,000 learners.
